Verena Winiwarter Receives Honorary Doctorate

Former Chair of the RCC Board, Verena Winiwarter, was awarded an honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Aalborg University, on 3 May 2019. Verena has been recognized as one of the world’s leading researchers of environmental history and for her creative and persistent work in promoting the field.
Based at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Verena has had an illustrious academic career focusing on human-nature relationships, authoring over two hundred peer-reviewed publications, and acting as the central figure in the establishment of the European Society for Environmental History (ESEH) in 2000.
