Podcast with Hal Crimmel

03.05.2019

In this recent podcast, Paul Grondahl, the director of the New York State Writer’s Institute, sat down with Hal Crimmel to discuss his documentary film The Rights of Nature: A Global Movement, which screened at the NYS Writer’s Institute as part of its Classic Film Series.

Codirected by former fellows Hal Crimmel and Valeria Berros, and filmmaker Isaac Goeckeritz, the documentary explores the origins of the Rights of Nature concept and how it has grown in Ecuador, New Zealand, and the United States. The film is one of the products of a fellowship collaboration and workshop hosted by the Rachel Carson Center—it originally screened at last year’s DOK.fest München.
