Interview with Simone Müller

29.01.2019

In this recent interview, Simone Müller addresses the problematic relationship between environmental journalism and the creation of public environmental awareness. She looks at the history and role of environmental journalism—as well as its challenges and potential—in the age of climate change. These issues form the basis of her workshop with Carson alumna Evi Zemanek (University of Freiburg): “Writing for Change: Environmental Journalism Then and Now.”

The workshop seeks to create a platform of exchange for historians, media and journalism scholars, and practitioners, to discuss historic as well as current trends, strategies, dilemmas (and solutions) in environmental reporting. It takes place from 28–29 January 2019 at the Center for Advanced Studies at LMU Munich.
