John Sandlos Honored by Royal Society of Canada

01.10.2018

Alumni fellow John Sandlos has been elected to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC). The RSC recognizes individuals who have made remarkable contributions in the arts, humanities, and sciences, as well as in Canadian public life. Scholars are chosen by peers for their exceptional contributions to their respective fields. The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientsits is the country’s first national system of multidisciplinary recognition for the emerging generation of Canada’s intellectual leadership.

Dr. Sandlos’s research focuses on the impacts of mining and toxins on Indigenous communities in northern Canada. He will be honored by the RSC during a celebration in Halifax in November, along with a colleague from Memorial University of Newfoundland who was also elected as a fellow.
