Agro-Food Studies: An Introduction

Ernst Langthaler, together with Ulrich Ermann (University of Graz), Marianne Penker (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna), and Markus Schermer (University of Innsbruck), has co-authored Agro-Food Studies: An introduction.

This volume provides an interdisciplinary introduction into the complex nexus between food production and consumption. It casts a critical eye on several areas of tension: tradition and modernity, globalization and regionalization, society and the environment, nature and technology, mind and body, and scarcity and abundance.

Building on developments in the past and present, the book also outlines alternative futures of the agro-food system.
