José-Augusto Pádua Cofounds Museum of Tomorrow in Brazil

The Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do Amanhã, Roberto Marinho Foundation, Rio), of which Carson Alumnus José-Augusto Pádua is a founding associate and a member of the scientific board, was inaugurated in Rio, Brazil last month. A science museum with a strong bias towards sustainability and environmental history, the permanent exhibition covers the cosmos, life, mind, ecology, the Anthropocene, and alternative paths towards the future. Pádua was one of the creators of the permanent exhibition and worked mainly on the section about the Anthropocene. The museum has seen 100,000 visitors in only four weeks, receiving coverage by the the BBC and the Guardian, which described it as "a captivating invitation to imagine a sustainable world."
