Call for Papers: "Religion, Science and the Future"

Featured speakers to include RCC alumni

18.05.2015

The conference "Religion, Science and the Future" organized by the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture will take place on 14–17 January 2016 at the University of Florida.

The deadline for paper and panel proposals is 15 July 2015.

Panels and paper proposals may address any aspect of the religion/nature/culture nexus, and focus on any time frame, space, or place.

Because the main conference theme is “Religion, Science and the Future”, we especially encourage proposals that, whatever else they illuminate, reflect as well on Religion, Science, and the Future. Conference sub-themes include: Evolution, Religion and Science; Religion, Violence, and Neuroscience; Religion and Science on Health and Well Being; Religion, Science, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems; Consciousness, Mysticism, & Meditative Practice; The Greening of Religion; Religion and Nature in the Arts; and Ethology, Botany, and Sentience.

Confirmed speakers include: J. Baird Callicott, Daniel Deudney, David Sloan Wilson, Winona LaDuke, Kocku von Stuckrad, Graham Harvey, Kyle Powls Whyte, and RCC alumni Lisa Sideris, Bron Taylor, and Tim LeCain.
