Stefan Dorondel to Convene "Floods, State, Dams and Dykes in Modern Times: Ecological and Socio-economic Transformations of the Rural World" Workshop

Workshop to be held in Bucharest, Romania, 18–20 June 2015.

Stefan Dorondel is to convene a workshop entitled "Floods, State, Dams and Dykes in Modern Times: Ecological and Socio-economic Transformations of the Rural World." The workshop will take place 18–20 June 2015 at the Francisc I. Rainer Institute of Anthropology Bucharest, part of the New Europe College Institute for Advanced Study and the Center of Risk Studies in the Faculty of Geography at the University of Bucharest, Romania. Carson Center co-director Christof Mauch will serve as a keynote speaker.

The papers from the workshop will form the basis for a special issue to be published in a peer-reviewed international indexed journal in English. The submission deadline is 15 January 2015; more information can be found in the call for papers here.
