Anthony Carrigan Accepts Position at University of Leeds

Lecturer in Postcolonial Literatures and Cultures

Anthony Carrigan, a Carson Fellow from January 2012 until June 2012, has been appointed to the position of lecturer in postcolonial literatures and cultures within the School of English at the University of Leeds, starting 1 September 2013. Leeds was the first UK university to establish Commonwealth literature as an academic discipline at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and it is internationally renowned as one of the top centres for postcolonial studies.

Carrigan will take an active role in the School's Postcolonial Research Group and the cross-disciplinary Institute for Colonial and Postcolonial Studies. He will also be part of the Faculty of Arts' major "New Humanities" initiative, which covers environmental humanities, medical humanities, and digital humanities.
