An interdisciplinary set of scholars offer their reflections on the broader implications of a risk society for social relations, environmental politics, material agency, global connections, and history.
"The Flow of Empire: Comparing Water Control in the United States and China" is based on a talk given by the distinguished environmental historian and former Carson Fellow Donald Worster on the water empires of China and the United States.
