New Perspectives Issue Hits the Shelves: "On Water"

25.05.2012

We’ve added another issue to our RCC Perspectives shelf. “On Water: Perceptions, Politics, Perils” explores the many guises of water: from resource to natural hazard, and as a mirror of our understanding of the natural world.

Through the lenses of history, philosophy, literary studies, geography, and cultural studies, nine RCC-affiliated scholars present their research on water. As the issue’s title suggests, the essays tackle human perceptions of water, its politics and power, and its perils.

The scholars' work exemplify three of the RCC’s six thematic clusters: Environmental Knowledge and Knowledge Societies, Transformation of Landscapes, and Natural Disasters and Cultures of Risk.

As always, you can download the issue for free in both full color or in printer-friendly black and white.
