Exciting Career Opportunity in the Environmental Humanities in Sweden

Director of the KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory

The RCC is pleased to pass on a new opportunity in the environmental humanities at the newly established KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory in Sweden.

The Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment seeks a director for the newly established KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory.The KTH Environmental Humanities Laboratory has been newly created, based on a private donation and matching KTH funds. The overarching goal is to create a post-disciplinary environment in which teaching, research and PhD education are integrated to modernize and develop the humanities for sustainable development.

The position as director is a two-year position with the possibility of prolongation. A major task during the initial build-up phase of the Laboratory is to lead and coordinate organization of research activities and projects and in building links with strategically important partners – institutes, departments, etcetera – internationally, but also within Sweden. The work also entails organizing conferences and workshops, communicating externally and writing grant applications and proposals to secure third-party funding for new projects and programs. The position includes independent research time within the Laboratory’s general field of interest. Teaching could also be possible. The director will work closely with the Head of Division and other senior faculty.
