Xu Zairong is a senior research fellow in the Institute of World History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing, China. He received his PhD degree in world history. He previously held a Harvard-Yenching fellowship (1999–2000) at Harvard University and was a Fulbright visiting scholar (2010–2011) at the East-West Center in Hawaii. He specializes in the history of environmental politics in the twentieth century, focusing particularly on American environmental movements and policy, global environmental politics, and the history of green politics in Europe.
