Nathan is currently drawing on co-productionist reimagings of participation and the capability approach to theorize the intersection between energy dilemmas and societal participation. He completed his PhD at the University of Leeds, where he studied at the Interdisciplinary Applied Ethics Centre and Sustainability Research Institute. His PhD developed a foundation for a normative account of energy systems that sought to create a conceptual space in which to articulate and better understand the diversity of grievances which stem from energy systems. Prior to his PhD Nathan undertook an MEnv in environment, ecology, and economics at the University of York.
