Bethany Wiggin is Founding Director of the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities (PPEH). She is Associate Professor of German and Comparative Literature and an affiliated faculty member in the English Department at the University of Pennsylvania. Her seminar on Sustainability and Utopianism is the first at the University to integrate the humanities and natural sciences. She also regularly teaches on topics including Environmental Humanities theory and practice, cultural and literary translation, and European and American literary and cultural history. From 2016 to 2017 she will direct the Penn Humanities Forum in a year devoted to exploring Translation.
