Adam T. Rosenbaum is an assistant professor of history at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he teaches courses on modern Europe, Germany, the Soviet Union, East Asia, the Cold War, and the history of travel. He received his PhD in modern German history from Emory University in 2011. His dissertation, "Timeless, Modern, and German? The Re-Mapping of Bavaria through the Marketing of Tourism, 1800–1939," examines the relationship between the marketing of tourism and popular conceptions of nature, modernity, and national identity in Bavaria. It was the winner of the Fritz Stern Dissertation Prize, annually awarded by the Friends of the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC, and the Parker-Schmitt Dissertation Prize, bi-annually awarded by the European History Section of the Southern Historical Association. Adam is currently working on a book manuscript, tentatively entitled In the Shadow of the Present: Bavarian Tourism and Grounded Modernity, 1800–1950. He has published articles in the Bulletin of the German Historical Institute and Central European History.
