Dr. Christiane Hille

Christiane Hille is an art historian with interest in the interrelation of environmental histories and the visual arts of pre-modern China. She holds a master's degree from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London and a PhD from Humboldt-University, Berlin. She is Feodor-Lynen Senior Research Fellow at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London, and Permanent Senior Research Fellow of the Art and Archaeology Research Center of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou. She previously held fellowships at the Yale Centre for British Art in New Haven, and at the Kunsthistorisches Institute Florenz (Max-Planck-Institute) in Florence.
