Upcoming Event: Christof Mauch's new book

24.04.2023 15:00  – 16:00

We would like to invite you to join us for an RCC Reading Group session with Christof Mauch to discuss his forthcoming book Paradise Blues: Traveling through the Nature and History of the USA.

Here is a short summary of his book:

"Christof Mauch is a renowned environmental historian, who lived in the USA for 15 years, traveling extensively throughout the country and focusing on the stunning landscapes and the impact of human activity on nature. His book provides a cleverly observed and masterfully written account of his travels to eight iconic locations, including Alaska, Malibu, Memphis, St. Thomas, Dodge City, Niagara, Disneyland, and Portland, which represent different aspects of environmental destruction. Mauch's work sheds light on the myth of America as a great, free, and untouched land and its impact on American identity."

Date: Monday, 24 April 2023

Time: 15:00–16:00 (CET)

Location: Online on Zoom.
