Felix Mauch, MA

Visiting Scholar

Felix Mauch studied modern history and cultural geography and holds an MA from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He joined the Rachel Carson Center in 2009 as a research associate. In addition to his current work with the Environment & Society Portal, he has worked on several exhibition projects with the Deutsches Museum. In his PhD thesis, Mauch is focusing on cultural perceptions of natural disasters, namely memory processes concerning the 1962 storm flood in Hamburg. Accordingly, his main areas of interest are historical disaster research, memory studies, and digital humanities.
