Highlights from the ecological farming workshop “Soil and Soul: A Gathering,” organized by Judith Bopp (RCC) and Nakul Heroor (RCC), and Renuka Karuppian, were documented in a film, which is now available on the RCC YouTube channel.
The ten-minute film captures impressions from the ecological farming workshop, “Soil and Soul: A Gathering,” held in October 2025. The farmer gathering took place in the vicinities of the town of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, India, where, over the past years, Renuka Karuppian has been building up a “farmer field school” for local small-scale farmers. During the gathering, local farmers exchanged knowledge and practices with a group of nine Thai organic farmers through guided discussions and hands-on activities in the field. The film follows this intercultural encounter. Interview sections highlight farmers’ perspectives on the future of small-scale, ecological farming in challenging times.
