Ecological Justice in Theory and Practice

In this Speak4Nature seminar, philosopher Sebastián Figueroa Rubio (Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain) and lawyer Isabel Pinheiro de Paula Couto (Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil) will discuss their work within the project, respectively providing examples of theory and practice in relation to ecological justice. Sebastián will elaborate on the philosophical challenges on ecological agency and normativity, while Isabel will present the ongoing implementation of sustainable policy in the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Speak4Nature is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie-funded staff exchange action of the European Commission, with the specific object of transferring both theoretical and empirical knowledge related to the techniques that assert the voice of non-human nature in social and legal instances.
