This Tuesday, David Schuhwerk and Toni Wegscheider (Bearded Vulture Blog) will join us for the Tuesday Discussion to report on the fascinating biology of the bearded vulture and its unique behavior as the final link in the food chain in alpine habitats. In their talk, Schuhwerk and Wegscheider will highlight the reasons for the bearded vulture’s historical extinction and current threats, and show some of the latest data on population development. International reintroduction projects, such as the one in the Western Alps, have been successful. Their strategies will be presented with a particular focus on the reintroduction project in Berchtesgaden.
The Tuesday Discussions are free and open to the public.
