The Environment & Society Portal is a nonprofit education and research project that aims to make environmental humanities resources accessible to the academic community and interested public. It offers a wide variety of digitized documents, media, and images, as well as illustrated online "exhibitions" that put these materials into interpretive contexts.
With its three main tools--a map viewer, timeline, and keyword explorer--users can delve into the complex relationship between society and the environment.
An important goal of the project is to cultivate a strong online community by involving its users in shaping its content.
We invite you to both peruse and contribute to its growing wealth of information. Start exploring.
To learn more about the development of the Portal, read this article in Kultur & Technik (in German).
Interested in contributing content? We are currently looking for proposals for further exhibitions to be published in the 2013-2014 biennium.
