Alumnus Allen Thompson Coedits Volume on Environmental Ethics

18.11.2016

Former Carson Fellow Allen Thompson has coedited The Oxford Handbook of Environmental Ethics together with Stephen M. Gardiner. The volume is designed as a cutting-edge introduction to environmental ethics in a time of dramatic global environmental change. It contains 45 newly commissioned articles, with contributions from well-established experts and emerging voices in the field. Chapters are arranged in topical sections: social contexts, who or what is of value, the nature of value, how things ought to matter, essential concepts, key issues, climate change, and social change. Each chapter explains the role played by central theories, ideas, issues, and concepts in contemporary environmental ethics, and their relevance for the challenges of the future.

Other RCC contributors to the volume include John Barry, John M. Meyer, and Bron Taylor.
