New Publication by Former Advisory Board Member Bernd Herrmann

Second Edition of His Introduction to Environmental History

26.04.2016

Former RCC advisory board member Bernd Herrmann has published a revised edition of his introduction to environmental history (in German): “Umweltgeschichte; Eine Einführung in Grundbegriffe.” It has been published by Springer Spektrum. The version serves as an invaluable resource, particularly for readers in environmental history, the humanities, and the natural sciences.

In this volume, Herrmann explores the consequences of human activity on ecosystems from past to present and addresses the perceptions and misconceptions that have directed research in the field of environmental history. He stresses that our acknowledgement of both the direct and indirect impacts of past human activity on the environment are vital in pursuing a more sustainable future relationship with nature.
