Winners of the 2014/2015 Nachhaltigkeitspreis Have been Announced
Sustainability Prize Recognizes the Research of Munich Students

The Nachhaltigspreis recognizes the contributions of Munich students to sustainability research; it is intended to encourage young researchers to investigate this complex and highly relevant field.
Students from any of the institutes of higher education participating in the Münchner Ring Nachhaltigkeitswissenschaft (Munich Sustainability Studies Ring) are eligible for the prize. Two prizes are awarded as a rule: one for the best doctoral dissertation and one for other degree theses; they are selected by a jury appointed by the Verein für Nachhaltigkeit e.V., the Rachel Carson Center, and BenE München e.V.
The 2014/2015 Awards were presented at the 7th Münchner Hochschultage on 16 June. The winning theses were:
Doctoral dissertation: Tim Aeverman. “Monetäre Bewertung urbaner Ecosystem Services am Beispiel der Fallstudie Schlosspark Nymphenburg, München – Analyse aus ökonomisch-ökologischer Perspektive” (TU München).
BA thesis: Christina Hertel. “The Sustainability Entrepreneurship Process – A Multiple-Case Study from the Food Industry” (TU München).
Magister thesis: Johanna Stöhr. “Das Verhältnis von Menschen und Natur im gegenwärtigen Film. Eine Anwendung des Ecocriticism am Beispiel von James Camerons Avatar” (LMU).
