New Book by Alumna Emily Brock

"Money Trees" looks at forest management in the northwest United States

07.04.2015

Emily Brock's book Douglas Fir and American Forestry, 1900-1944 has just been published by Oregon State University Press. This environmental history of forest managers in the Pacific Northwest reorients a seemingly-familiar history and in so doing provides a new way of understanding management decisions and regulatory change not just in those years and that place, but in a much wider scope of twentieth century industry's impact on global forests. Brock finished the manuscript during her fellowship at the RCC in 2014.
