Daisy Onyige Selected as an Expert for the Intergovernmental Science Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES)

05.08.2014

Current Carson Fellow, Daisy Onyige, has been chosen to act as an expert on the Intergovernmental Science Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Multidisciplinary Expert Panel (MEP). Onyige was selected to be part of an IPBES expert group tasked with scoping a set of regional and subregional assessments on biodiversity and ecosystem services, contributing towards implementing the first IPBES work program 2014-18. As part of this, in August 2014 Onyige will attend a workshop in Paris, France, with 25-30 experts from each UN region. The project will result in the completion of a draft guidance document of a set of regional and subregional assessments, for consideration by governments and stakeholders in advance of the third IPBES plenary in January 2015. The RCC congratulates Daisy Onyige on her nomination and wishes her all the best for this exciting opportunity.
