RCC Fellow Elin Kelsey to talk at PsyCris Conference

Conference to focus on Disaster Resilience

07.12.2013

PsyCris (PSYcho-social Support in CRISis Management), "an international multi-disciplinary project funded by the European Union with the overall objective to improve psycho-social support in crisis management," is organizing a workshop around "resilience." This "Resilienz-Kolloqium" will be hosted by Dr. Tine Adler (Project PsyCris: www.psy.lmu.de/psycris).

Since "disaster resilience" will be a central topic also in the next EU-funded research programme (Horizon 2020), a focus will be placed on "disaster resilience"/"community resilience" within a broader framework of concepts and related systems. The event will facilitate exchanges between experts of various disciplines within the social sciences and beyond.

Elin Kelsey will give a talk entitled "Social Networking Humpbacks, Radio-Active Wolves: Resilience in the Other-than-human World."

Date: 19 December 2013
Time: 12.00-18.00
Location: Kardinal Wendel Haus, Mandlstraße 23, 80802 Munich
