Science Europe Group Profiles Humanities Research Projects

"12 Compelling Cases for Policymakers" Includes Three RCC-related Projects

02.10.2013

Science Europe, an association of major European Research Funding and Research Performing Organisations, has published a report entitled "Humanities in the Societal Challenges: 12 Compelling Cases for Policymakers." The brochure contains twelve profiles of humanities research projects that "demonstrate the tangible impacts of key research findings on real-world issues such as sustainable housing, energy conservation and inner-city crime; they also highlight how fundamental arts and humanities research leads to innovation that can rarely be foreseen."

Two of the projects have RCC connections. Uwe Lübken's Climates of Migration project is featured, as is the History of Marine Animal Populations (HMAP) project coordinated by Carson alumnus Poul Holm. The brochure also features the environmental history of the Danube River (ENVIEDAN) project run by Verena Winiwarter, who is the Vice Chair of the RCC's Advisory Board.
