Katie Ritson's Translation of Franz Hohler Published in Mad Hatters Review

"The Retaking of Zurich" Presented at Issue Launch in Berlin

"One day, as I was sitting at my desk, looking out of the window, I saw that an eagle had come to rest on the TV aerial of the apartment building opposite."

So begins Swiss writer Franz Hohler's short story "The Retaking of Zurich," translated by RCC Managing Editor Katie Ritson for the digital literary annual Mad Hatters Review. This issue of the Mad Hatters Review is a themed special issue of German-language writing in translation, guest edited by Lucy Renner Jones.

Franz Hohler lives and works in Zurich, where he is counted among Switzerland’s finest contemporary writers. In "The Retaking of Zurich," the eagle is only the beginning...
