Bavarian Green Party Visit Rachel Carson Center

Members of the Bavarian Green Party visited the Rachel Carson Center during their Energy Tour in November 2012. Carson fellows from around the world and RCC staff demonstrated the value of historical and socio-cultural perspectives on the energy transition, as they weighed in on such topics as: How to convince the general population that renewable energy is desirable; whether it is necessary for people to make sacrifices in order to create a sustainable society; and how attitudes about climate change are shaped by public discussions about the creation of jobs, local identity, and concerns about electricity costs.
