Franziska Torma Awarded John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellowship

Research Fellow Franziska Torma is one of three recipients of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellowship at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, Harvard University for 2012-13. The post-doctoral fellowships are awarded each year to top German scholars working in the humanities. The fellowship was established in 1966 with an endowment from the German Federal government and German industry. Torma will be in residence from September 2012 – June 2013 and will be continuing her research on the influence of oceans on human environments in the period 1850-2000.
