New Lunchtime Colloquium Schedule Announced

April - May 2012

The Center is excited to announce its next batch of speakers for its ongoing Lunchtime Colloquium series. Through the months of April and May, seven experts from across the globe will present on provocative topics ranging from the human dimensions of environmental change to citizen activism against Agent Orange.

Three lectures addressing different aspects of climate change will start off the colloquium in April. Speakers will include Peter Höppe from Munich RE, Carson Fellow Anya Zilberstein, and Peter Weingart from the University of Bielefeld.

May's lectures will include a look at the charisma of a Japanese wild mushroom and the historic ranching landscapes of Northern Colombia. Carson Fellows Amy Hay, Shiho Satsuko, and Shawn van Ausdal, as well as Andreas Rechkemmer from the Global Risk Forum Davos will speak.

As always, the Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public. It meets in the Katholische Hochschulgemeinde, Leopoldstr. 11 every Thursday during academic semesters from 12 - 2 p.m. Snacks are served at 12:00, the lecture starts at 12:30.
