Andrew Denning Completes Dissertation

Appointed Visiting Professor at Western Washington University

Former Rachel Carson Center Visiting Fellow Andrew Denning completed his PhD in modern European history at the University of California Davis with the submission of his dissertation entitled ''Schuss! Skiing, the Alps, and the Invention of Alpine Modernity, 1880-1990.'' His main advisor was Edward Dickinson, other committee members included Ted Margadant, RCC Director Christof Mauch, and Michael Saler. Following the completion of his degree, Denning was appointed Visiting Professor of Modern European History in the Department of History at Western Washington University in Bellingham.
