Rita Brara on "Adjudicating Resource Use: The National Green Tribunal, India"

Lunchtime Colloquium

11.06.2015 12:00  – 14:00

Location: Katholische Hochschulgemeinde (KHG), Leopoldstr. 11, 1st Floor

Rita Brara (University of Delhi) will present on "Adjudicating Resource Use: The National Green Tribunal, India."

India's Green Tribunal was established in 2010 to provide prompt resolution of judicial cases related to environmental protection. This talk will consider three strands of adjudication that emerge from a perusal of the Green Tribunal's decisions: the motif and practice of public interest, balance as a juridical metaphor and the legal construction of scientific evidence.

The Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public.

Snacks are served at 12:00; the lecture starts at 12:30.
