Greenpeace Roundtable at the 23rd Göttinger Literaturherbst
Launch of the German Translation of Frank Zelko's Book "Make It a Greenpeace!"
19.10.2014 at 11:15
Location: Deutsches Theater, Theaterplatz 11, Göttingen
Greenpeace has not been a hippie-movement for quite some time. The story of this nonprofits evolution is sensational in many respects: originally a loose network of activists, in the meantime the environmental organisation has become a major global palyer with tremendous clout and a formidable profile in todays media. Former Carson Fellow Frank Zelko has written the first comprehensive, objective history of Greenpeace's origins and evolution—Make It a Green Peace! (2013). In 2014 the Rachel Carson Center collaborated with Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht to have the book translated into German. To launch the book, Greenpeace - Von der Hippiebewegung zum Ökokonzern, RCC Director Christof Mauch, Jürgen Trittin, former German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and taz editor-in-chief Ines Pohl will discuss the expansion of Greenpeace at a roundtable on Sunday, 19 October 2014.
