In his most recent book The Global Crisis: War, Climate Change and Catastrophe in the Seventeenth Century (Yale University Press, 2013), Geoffrey Parker offers a new interpretation of the emergences of a global crisis in the seventeenth century. Drawing on findings from historical climatology, he makes a connection between the sudden climatic change and the political crisis and social upheaval of this era. In his lecture, Parker will expand on and discuss some of the findings from his research.

The lecture will take place in English and is open to the public.
