Khaled Misbahuzzaman (University of Chittagong) will present on "Managing Landscapes in the Bangladeshi Mountains: Traditional Knowledge and Modern Wisdom." 

Focusing on mountainous landscapes in Bangladesh, the talk will highlight the importance of combining local traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) with scientific knowledge for sustainable resource management. Using a case study from the Chittagong Hill Tracts in south-eastern Bangladesh, Misbahuzzaman will demonstrate how community stewardship contributes to maintaining local bio-cultural diversity that may inform development practices/practitioners in the region.
