Kathleen McAfee on "Green Economy or Buen Vivir: Can Capitalism Save Itself?"

Lunchtime Colloquium

30.10.2014 12:00  – 14:00

Location: Katholische Hochschulgemeinde (KHG), Leopoldstr. 11

Kathleen McAfee (San Francisco State University) will present on "Green Economy or Buen Vivir: Can Capitalism Save Itself?"

The Green Economy is proposed as a response to the triple global crisis of climate change, lagging growth, and persistent poverty and 'underdevelopment'. It would use the tools of capitalism to save the system from its own worst effects. Can it succeed? Or do new approaches from the global North and South - Degrowth and Buen Vivir - offer more hope?

The Lunchtime Colloquium is free and open to the public.

Snacks are served at 12:00; the lecture starts at 12:30.
