Inaugural SOLCHA Postgraduate Summer School

In Latin American Environmental History

SOLCHA and the Uneversidad de los Andes, with the support of the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, are proud to present:

The inaugural SOLCHA postrgraduate summer school.

Taking place in June 2013, the summer school will seek to develop a comparative and wide-ranging vision of Latin American environmental history. The program will select 18 master's or PhD students who are pursuing research in history, anthropology, geography, environmental studies, or related disciplines. Preference will be given to scholars living and working in the region, but scholars from elsewhere are very welcome.

All successful applicants will receive grants covering tuition and part of accommodation costs. However, travel costs are not covered.

Lecturers: Claudia Leal (Colombia), Andres Guhl (Colombia), Stefania Gallini (Colombia), Shawn Van Ausdal (Colombia), Camilo Quintero (Colombia), John Soluri (USA), Gustavo Adrián Zarrilli (Argentina), Reinaldo Funes (Cuba), and Nicolas Cuvi (Ecuador).

Activities include lectures, workshops, discussions of research projects, and field trips.

The deadline for applications is 23 March 2013.
